Any person wishing to speak on a non-agenda item may do so under “Public Comment”.  There is a three (3) minute time limitation.  By law, board members may not enter into discussion nor take action on any item not previously published on the agenda. 

 

Any member of the public wishing to speak on agenda items may do so before action is taken, when recognized by the Board President.  Persons wishing to be recognized should complete and sign a request form.  Forms are available near the entrance of the meeting room.  The completed form should be given to the President of the Board just prior to the start of the meeting.  Members of the public who have filled out the forms will be given first priority to speak on the agenda item.  After these members have spoken, those members of the public who have not filled out forms may address the agenda item.

Prior to providing offers of employment to certificated members, school boards must authorize a reelection list.  Attached herein is the district's reelection list for the 2022-23 school year.
 
Recommended Motion:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees take action to approve the district's re-election list.

XII.A. Approval to dispose of Obsolete/Unusable Material at Patterson High School

Background:

Authorization to Declare Obsolete Electronic equipment and Accessories, Items as obsolete Property.  The School District, as a public agency, will manage and efficiently utilize its property, equipment, instructional materials, and fixed assets.  Effective use of school building space, and consideration for safety of personnel, will at times require disposal of obsolete equipment and material.  Equipment, instructional materials, and fixed assets of the School District which is obsolete, surplus or no longer usable or repairable will be disposed for in a fair and reasonable manner.

Issue:

"Obsolete" property, equipment, instructional materials and fixed assets are those materials which have been reviewed by District staff and deemed no longer usable for any District purposes.

PHS would like to dispose of items that are no longer in working condition (see attached)

 
Recommended Motion:

It is Administration's recommendation that the Board of Trustees approve disposing of obsolete music instruments.

XII.B. Approval of District Contracts

Rationale:

Background:

Board Policy (BP 3300) state that the Board of Trustees shall ratify contracts as specified in Education Code 17605, which authorizes the Superintendent, or authorized designee, to sign contracts, followed by ratification by the Board of Trustees.  Education Code Section 17605 further states that the ratification of contracts must be done within 60 days after contract approval.  In addition, the contracts being ratified are under the threshold amounts specified by Public Contract Code 20111.

The Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent have reviewed and approved each of these contracts.

Background:
